Drone pilots

The NSW Wildlife Drone Hub is building the NSW Government’s potential to track wildlife by training drone pilots.

To date, the NSW Wildlife Drone Hub has trained 30 operators, involving a 6-week drone course.

Drone pilots operate under the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator's Certificate (ReOC) and use survey methods developed by the Drone Hub.

Trained pilots are finding work surveying wildlife for government, industry and community groups, delivering on a key purpose of the Drone Hub: to develop capacity for biodiversity survey in New South Wales.
