This plan includes the sections of Gulaga National Park formerly known as Wallaga Lake National Park and Goura Nature Reserve. Management of these sections is now covered by the plan of management for the Yuin Bangguri (Mountain) Parks.

The area conserves samples of open forest, rainforest and estuarine wetland which provide habitat for a diverse range of native animal species, most notably the threatened long-nosed potoroo (Potorous tridactylus) and koala ( Phascolarctos cinereus). The plan of management provides for protection of habitat values by minimising internal tracks, control of introduced species, appropriate fire management and limiting human disturbance.
