The Murrumbidgee Long-Term Water Plan recognises the diverse range of human values and uses connected to the Murrumbidgee system.
It draws together local, traditional and scientific knowledge to guide the management of rivers over the longer term and details the objectives and watering requirements for key plants, waterbirds, fish and system functions.
The Murrumbidgee Long-Term Water Plan is one of nine developed for NSW river systems as required under the Murray–Darling Basin Plan.
Managers of water for the environmental will use this long-term water plan to guide and inform their actions to support the ongoing health of rivers and wetlands for the benefit of plants, animals and people.
