Tollingo Nature Reserve and Woggoon Nature Reserve Planning Considerations
Occupying almost 10,000 hectares, these reserves are significant remnants of mallee shrubland in the extensively modified semi-arid landscape. They provide habitat for 20 threatened animals including the endangered malleefowl and 20 rare or regionally significant plants. Shared heritage sites dating from the early 20th century and Aboriginal heritage are also present.
The reserves also support low-key recreation such as bushwalking and birdwatching.
The planning considerations report is a supporting document to the Tollingo Nature Reserve and Woggoon Nature Reserve Plan of Management (2021). It includes detailed information on reserve values (e.g. cultural heritage and threatened species) and the threats to these values.
