In 2022, NSW Air Quality Monitoring Network comprised 44 air quality monitoring stations across New South Wales until the Chullora station was decommissioned in November 2022, ending the year with 43 monitoring stations.

Ambient lead monitoring in NSW ceased in 2004 as ambient concentrations fell consistently below the National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure standard following the introduction of unleaded motor fuel.
