Council of the City of Broken HillBroken Hill Mosque: Physical Conservation and Re-interpretation of the Only Surviving ‘Ghan Town’ Mosque in AustraliaThe survival of Broken Hill Mosque is vital to the historical narrative of Australia’s only National Heritage-listed city. This heritage listed building and the museum collections therein are rapidly deteriorating. This project comprises significant internal and external conservation works, coupled with a major people-centred re-interpretation of the Mosque Museum. The aim is to preserve the unique tangible heritage of Australia’s early cameleers for the inspiration, education and enjoyment of future generations.$113,000.00

Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land CouncilPreserving an IconPreparation of a conservation management strategy will occur to guide the conservation and maintenance of the Rangers Headquarters Building at Waratah Park.$9,961
Maitland City CouncilMaitland Jewish Cemetery Interpretation PlanA 4-year program of conservation planning, monumental and landscaping works at the Maitland Jewish cemetery means that the physical condition of the site is now stable. Opportunities for interpretation are now proposed as part of the implementation of the Jewish Cemetery Conservation Management Plan (2012). A series of initiatives will be explored as part of the interpretation planning process. The Maitland Jewish Cemetery Friends Group will ensure that a meaningful and community based approach informs the development of interpretation outcomes.

The project makes allowance for the preparation of an interpretation plan, and implementation of recommendations.

Mr Stuart JessopDover, 44 Barden Street, Tempe – Conservation Management PlanThe project seeks to prepare a conservation management plan for Dover, 44 Barden Street, Tempe. The site has a rare example of a vernacular timber slab hut, one of the early forms of dwelling construction used by European settlers in Australia. The CMP would outline conservation principles and policies to guide its on-going management, maintenance and use.$10,000
