Yurammie State Conservation Area is 221 hectares in size and was formerly state forest. The park protects a diverse range of vegetation types, including both wet and dry sclerophyll forests, rainforest and forested wetlands. Two endangered ecological communities occur in the park and 20 threatened animal species have been recorded within or close to the park.
Yurammie State Conservation Area is also significant for evidence of the Wolumla Gold Field, a relatively rare historical example of reef gold workings, which dates back to 1896.
