Review of the Schedules

Between 2007 and 2009, the NSW Scientific Committee undertook a systematic review of the conservation status of a selection of plant and animal species listed under the Threatened Species Conservation Act.

Background

From 1995 to 2017, the legislation covering the listing of threatened species and ecological communities in New South Wales was called the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 (the TSC Act).

The NSW Scientific Committee established under that Act was required to keep the lists of threatened species, populations, ecological communities and key threatening processes in the Schedules of the TSC Act under review and determine whether any changes to the lists were necessary. A Review of the Schedules project took place between 2007 and 2009.
