Located 120 kilometres east of Broken Hill, Kinchega National Park is critically important for local Aboriginal culture and heritage. The park contains occupation and burial sites that are more than 13,000 years old.
The Kinchega National Park Menindee Aboriginal Elders Council Memorandum of Understanding a means that local Aboriginal people work with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, part of OEH, to protect, manage and interpret Aboriginal cultural sites within the Kinchega National Park and the Menindee area.
