Mundoonen Nature Reserve Plan of Management
Mundoonen Nature Reserve is one of several conservation areas that protect Southern Tableland dry sclerophyll forest, with associated animal and plant communities.
It protects a sample of dry tablelands vegetation in an area which has been largely cleared, several regionally significant plant species and communities, habitat for a variety of native animals including the vulnerable koala and powerful owl, and sites of European historical importance including remnants of the Old Gap Road (the first route of the Hume Highway) and several charcoal burning sites.
The New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 requires that a plan of management be prepared for each nature reserve. A plan of management is a legal document that outlines how a reserve will be managed in the years ahead.
