On 9 April 2022, the NSW Government released a new NSW Koala Strategy (the Strategy) backed by more than $190 million over 5 years. The Strategy is the first in a series of 5-year plans that work towards the government’s long-term goal of doubling the number of koalas in New South Wales by 2050.

This Implementation Plan and Progress Report summarises the progress made in implementing Strategy actions in year 1 (to 30 June 2022) and provides additional information on the implementation of actions to 2026.
