Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modelling (CREEM) Review of kangaroo survey methods

In response to the NSW Upper House Inquiry into the Health and wellbeing of kangaroos and other macropods, the NSW Government committed to a review of the NSW kangaroo survey design and analysis methods with expert advice from the Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modelling (CREEM), University of St Andrews, [Scotland]. The CREEM review and the department’s response are both available for downloading.

The Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modelling (CREEM), University of St Andrews, was approached to conduct a review of the survey design, protocols and analysis methods used by the NSW Kangaroo Management Program. CREEM has a long history of developing distance sampling methods and tools. This report contains the results of their review, including advice and recommendations for improvements.
