The Macleay Coast Destination project aims to improve community wellbeing, enhance the regional visitor economy and increase nature-based tourism in New South Wales. The project, which includes funding of $6.7 million, will complement the existing historic and cultural significance of key visitor precincts in Arakoon and Hat Head national parks.

The project will be implemented in 3 stages, with a commitment to improving and modernising visitor infrastructure and facilities in these parks to enhance the experience of visitors and locals alike. Works commenced on the Cardwell Street car park upgrade in late September and infrastructure improvement works at the Trial Bay Gaol precinct are scheduled to start in February 2025.

We thank everyone for their valued feedback on the draft master plan. The submissions summary report is now available.
