Lead Environmental Community Groups

This program helps lead community environmental organisations build the NSW community’s capacity to protect and conserve our environment.

This program is currently under review and is closed to applications.

Purpose

The program funds peak community organisations that can effectively carry out community programs in environmental education and awareness.

Funding available

The program has an annual budget of $600,000.

There are 2 streams of funding:

  • stream 1 – grants up to $30,000 a year
  • stream 2 – grants of between $30,000 and $70,000 a year.

Who can apply?

This program is for ‘peak’ or ‘lead’ environmentally focused community organisations that:

  • are non-government
  • are not-for-profit
  • have a full-time presence in New South Wales
  • work to protect and enhance the environment.

When can applications be made?

This program is currently closed to applications. 

Program evaluation

The Environmental Trust has in place a rolling program of independent evaluations of all of its contestable grant programs. These evaluations explore the strengths and weaknesses of the respective program and establish the objectives, value and scope of future funding rounds.
