The history of resorts and snow sports in Kosciuszko National Park has been captured and celebrated by the Perisher Historical Society and the Thredbo Historical Society.
To learn more about the resorts associated with Perisher and Charlotte Pass, visit the Perisher Historical Society website or purchase a copy of Highway to Heaven: A history of Perisher and the ski resorts along the Kosciuszko Road by Peter Southwell-Keely.
And the next time you’re in Thredbo, visit the Thredbo Alpine Museum to view the well-presented collection of memorabilia, equipment, photographs and documents. The museum is located off the Village Square, below the Kosciuszko Room, adjacent to the Information Centre.
A number of books on the history of Thredbo can be purchased at the museum.
