Our scientists:
- manage the air quality monitoring network and provide hourly updates for air quality across New South Wales
- conduct risk assessments for contamination and monitor chemicals in the environment
- provide evidence-based advice to support the NSW Environment Protection Authority in their pollution-related investigations, regulation, emergency responses, prosecutions and issues of community concern
- help manage and monitor the environmental impact of pollution on land, beaches and waterways
- assess and advise on the impacts of natural hazards including flooding and bushfires.
